Adopting a pet from the Charlevoix Area Humane Society not only changes the life of an animal but also enriches your own life in countless ways. When you adopt from us, you’re not just gaining a loyal companion; you’re making a compassionate choice that supports animals.
By welcoming an animal into your home, you free up space and resources in our shelter, allowing us to rescue and care for more animals in need. Your adoption fee directly supports our efforts to provide care, food, and shelter for other animals awaiting their forever homes.
The Process to Adopt:
You will need to fill out an application and once it is approved we can then set up an appointment to visit with our animals.

Misty
Misty came to our shelter from Van Buren County with her sibling Meadow. We are not sure as to their past and how they ended up at their shelter. Both of the girls are very shy with people but are super eager to get in on some petting and baby talk. Being at the shelter is a very stressful situation as can be expected. Misty has had a couple of seizures while in our care and has been diagnosed with epilepsy. This means that she will need medication twice daily for the rest of her life to help keep it under control. Misty is ready for a new great furever home and needs all the love you can give.
