This cutie patootie is Snowball. Snowball is considered a special needs dog as she is totally deaf, but she doesn't let a little thing like that get in her way! Snowball is full of spunky sweetness and has wonderful manners. Snowball was originally adopted from us several years ago but was found running as a stray in another county and was never picked up. After that Snowball found herself back at CAHS in search of a lasting forever home. Snowball has won all of our hearts over and loves spending time in our front office greeting anyone who enters. She loves to sit in chairs or on our front bench staring out the window. She loves everyone that she meets and we just can't believe she is still with us. Snowball does not care for other dogs but we think she would be fine with cats. She is also house trained. Open your home to this little lady and we promise she will warm your heart! Snowball is currently in a wonderful foster home, but still in search of a permanent place to call her own.

Hi guys!! I'm Anna May and I'm SO excited to meet you! I just love people! I am still learning manners and how to control my excitement so you may see me quite literally jump for joy at times, I promise it's something I'm working on though. I just need a nice human to come along and teach me some basic etiquette. I'm still young and very eager to learn!
You may wonder why I'm a year old and don't have much training, well, I have spent almost my whole life in shelters. I was brought to a shelter out of town at about 4 months old and that's all I've ever known or been exposed to. I'm learning to go on walks now and how to walk nicely and the people here say I'm a quick learner! Unfortunately since shelter life is all I know, I can be standoffish with other dogs. Who wouldn't be a little reactive to a bunch of strangers barking at you though?! I'm sure with the right human and some patience we could work through this. I haven't experienced those little fuzzy things called cats so I'm not sure I'd want to coexist with any, but again, maybe it's something I could learn to live with. Give me a chance and I promise to be the best girl I can be!

This sweet senior is Azazle, also known as Azzy. Azazle came to us as a transfer from the Saginaw area and he is ready to say goodbye to the city life and focus on a life of relaxion in good ole Northern Michigan. Azazle is a calm and gentle guy and would do in a quiet home. He enjoys beds and naps like most senior citizens and does seem to walk well on a leash.
As is the case with many senior shepards, Azzy does have some hip issues and is on some medication for pain management. He seems to be tolerant of other dogs that give him his space and we believe he would do well with cats.

Hello! My name is Pallo, pronounced PAH-Low, and I am quite pleased to make your acquaintance! I love people, but I may be stand-offish at first. I only really know how to sit, but I'm great on walks (which I love) and I will sit at the door and wait for you. I'm not much for playing ball, but I’ll let you pet me until your heart’s content and will lean in to get all the love you can give. I don't get along with other dogs, and I'd like to have all the attention for myself. Cats intrigue me, but I haven't really had a chance to be one-on-one with any. I do pull a tiny bit on my leash, but with a little patience I promise I'll be a very good boy on a walk. Give me a chance and I’m sure I’ll make you proud!

This little lady came to us through a large scale rescue with the Bissell Pet Foundation. Linda has not had a lot of human interaction and takes a minute to warm up to warm up to people. She tolerates being handled and we think she would blossom in the right home. Linda would do best in a quiet home without children. She seems to enjoy the company of other dogs and would do well in a home with a buddy.
